Featured Speaker: Haben Girma

White House Champion of Change, Forbes 30 Under 30 leader, and BBC Women of Africa Hero Haben Girma advocates for the creation of more inclusive communities. From America’s largest tech companies to Africa’s oldest universities, Haben energizes audiences with powerful lessons from her life and work. A celebrated speaker, she introduced President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden at the White House Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Her TEDx Talk, highlighting her pioneering work, continues to inspire people to strive for a more inclusive world.

Recognized as the first deafblind graduate of Harvard Law School, she received her J.D. in 2013. Through her work at Disability Rights Advocates, Haben helped achieve a legal victory in National Federation of the Blind v. Scribd, the second case to hold that the ADA applies to e-commerce. Haben lives in Berkeley, California.
